Our Approach
SunServe’s Transgender Services Department provides wraparound, trauma-informed support for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive individuals. Whether you’re in crisis or working toward long-term goals, we’re here to meet you with care, dignity, and respect.
What We Offer
Our services are free, confidential, and designed to support your mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. Whether you’re navigating an immediate crisis or planning for the future, we’re here to support you. Our department regularly provides:
Case Management & Navigation
Comprehensive support connecting clients to essential resources such as housing, healthcare, employment, and legal documentation. Our team assists with both short- and long-term stabilization and provides expert navigation for insurance, medical, and HIV prevention services.
Mental Health & Wellness
Individual counseling with therapists experienced in LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse care, addressing trauma, anxiety, and identity development. We also offer life coaching, peer-led support groups, and affirming spaces that promote healing, growth, and empowerment.
Economic Empowerment & Daily Living Support
Support for long-term stability through workforce development, education, and access to financial and transportation resources. Services include résumé and job-search coaching, scholarship and SNAP assistance, and transportation coordination when available.
Transition & Legal Support
Personalized guidance through every step of gender transition — from connecting to trans-affirming primary care and hormone therapy to assistance with name and gender marker changes across legal and government documentation.
Events & Community Programs
In addition to direct services, we host cultural events and community-building activities that celebrate identity, joy, and visibility, like pool parties, seasonal gatherings, and more.

Am I Eligible?
Our services are open to anyone who identifies as transgender, nonbinary, or gender-diverse and is actively working toward personal wellness or stability.
- Services are free and available regardless of insurance status.
- A short intake appointment is required to get started and determine appropriate support (please bring a valid photo ID).
What to Expect at Your Intake
We’ll meet with you to learn about your needs and help create a personalized service plan. Here’s what the process looks like:
