We are not only advocates for strong, inclusive families and healthy relationships in all their diverse forms within and across the generations, we are also professional and volunteer agents for development and change. We are committed to provide quality affordable counseling, psychotherapy, education and outreach to all regardless of their ability to pay. We assert that:

• Families in all their diverse forms and relationships are to be honored and strengthened by inclusive education and outreach programs.
• All families and individuals who suffer from emotional, psychological, addictive, or relationship problems deserve quality care.
• The most effective treatment of psychological and relationship issues and concerns is one that utilizes all resources: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, communal, relational and spiritual.
• Each of us has a considerable reserve of personal resources that counseling and therapy can help us tap into.
• All deserve the best compassionate care from one another when our resources feel depleted or difficult to access; this often occurs when we are unduly stressed or experiencing pain or loss.
• We are dedicated to providing that care regardless of the client's income level.

How Do We Do That:
Some of that care is provided at our central facility by licensed therapists and Florida registered interns under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Other professionals in South Florida who have special expertise in serving the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered community, have volunteered to assist us in providing our services. Most are members of a collective of therapists who, in concert with the programs offered at our central facility, provide a full array of options to meet counseling, therapy, personal, family and community developmental needs.

Our educational, training and consultation programs call on the expertise of these and other professionals to provide the best opportunities to meet the needs of individuals and families for development of personal and interpersonal resources. We provide psycho-educational workshops, conferences and consultations on site and at other facilities in South Florida, often in partnership with other agencies and organizations that are in touch with the GLBT community's needs. We also offer workshops and conferences for professionals in the community to assist them in enhancing their expertise to serve the GLBT community of South Florida and beyond.

Our outreach programs especially target GLBT at risk youth and adults to assist them in building the quality relationships that seek to reduce the risk of homelessness, abuse, neglect and violence.

Furthermore, we include making support services available for our clients. At CCFD we are gathering and training non professional peer counselors who can provide the mentoring, companionship, group facilitation and compassionate presence that helps our clients cope with the stressors and the struggles of living a full life in a sometimes non validating social environment. Additionally, we screen and provide training for persons in the community who have the basic skills to serve in this capacity.

And we dedicate ourselves to assisting our clients in locating additional services to meet their mental health and developmental needs when and where we are not equipped to provide that ourselves.
