Dr. Nikki Saltzburg is a licensed psychologist at Florida Atlantic University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where she does clinical work and trains/supervises graduate trainees in addition to her role as the center’s LGBTQ Coordinator. She also maintains a private practice in Fort Lauderdale. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Miami, earning a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 2010. Her academic research has primarily focused on LGBTQ identity development and she is a member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH). Over the past thirteen years she has worked with countless LGBTQ youth and adults addressing identity concerns, coming out, being out in different contexts, as well as navigating/improving relationships with family, friends, and partners. She has also administered or provided training to LGBTQ peer mentoring programs at several large universities including University of California Irvine, California State University Northridge, and Florida Atlantic University. She has served on the SunServe Board of Directors since 2014, and also volunteers as a clinical supervisor for the agency.
